Some of the few negative reviews of this product seem to complain that their knife doesn’t hold an edge beyond a few uses. Well, to keep the razor sharp edge that this product puts on a piece of high quality cutlery will require frequent sharpening. Ever seen a barber who has to use the razor strop every time he gives a shave – same principle. If you’re using cheap knives, then don’t expect this to be a miracle worker. You need high quality carbon steel to take the proper edge. Used on the right kind of knife, I can skin a tomato with the edge this leaves behind!

I’ve used professional powered sharpeners with a three stage process that can’t put a better edge than this little hand held device. I keep one in my tool box, one in the kitchen and one in my tackle box. We give them at Christmas as presents and get rave reviews from the recipients.
